Titan Submersible which was en route to the Titanic wreckage site had lost contact with its mothership just a couple of hours after it started its journey and is now racing against time as only a few hours of oxygen are left. Measuring 21 feet (6.5 meters) in length, this submersible is expected to have traveled a distance of about 2 miles under the surface of the North Atlantic region.

The interior of the Titan, the submersible is like a metal tube with metal sheets on the floor and a very limited space. One can’t stand or kneel in this small space submersible. Passengers have to sit very close to one another, sometimes one over the other. The vessel had a single window and it has a toilet seat that has only a curtain for privacy. OceanGate, the company behind the Titan, is receiving criticism for employing a basic video game controller to navigate Titan.

The five passengers onboard the submersible are British billionaire Hamish Harding, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French diver Paul-Henri Nargerolet, a billionaire from Pakistan Shahzada Dawood, and his son Suleman.
