The island nation New Zealand is currently in deep turmoil due to the cyclone formed in the South Pacific Ocean. Heavy to very heavy rains currently pours in New Zealand and this made thousands without power. Especially, the North of New Zealand was most affected with some 46K homes lost power. The Cyclone has been named Gabrielle and it is currently moving toward the North of the nation.

Emergency management minister Kieran McAnulty during the media briefing has indicated the declaration of emergency if things failed to get better. If it happens, this will only be the third time that the nation will face a national state of emergency. Irrespective of this, with the impact of the cyclone already higher, some areas have declared a state of emergency including Auckland.

Many schools and local government facilities across Auckland were shut down and the government has asked the people not to travel if possible.
