Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who is on a two-day visit to India, has invited Indian PM Narendra Modi for the G-7 summit. Both the leaders met at Hyderabad House in Delhi.

PM Modi has thanked Kishida for the invitation. Modi said, “Today Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida called me for the G-7 summit, which will be held in Hiroshima in May. I thanked him for this.”

Kishida said that the PM accepted his invitation immediately. Kishida said that he would announce a new plan for the Free and Open Indo Pacific (FOIP).

He said, “I am very happy to say that I will present the new vision of FOIP on the soil of India, which is a strong ally of ours. Our economic partnership with India will not only help India progress, it will also create many new opportunities for Japan’s economy.”

Both the leaders talked about the problems of the international community and talked about increasing the partnership between G-7 and G-20.
