Hailey and Justin Bieber’s comments on fasting in Ramadan angered netizens

The month of Ramadan is considered very sacred in Islam. There has been an uproar over the remarks of American model Hailey Bieber and Canadian singer Justin Bieber regarding fasting in the month of Ramadan.

During the online interview, the famous Bieber couple’s comment was sharply criticized by actress Gauahar Khan while posting it in her Instagram story and called them ‘idiots’.

Interview of Justin and Hailey described fasting in Ramadan as ‘depriving the body of nutrients’. People are sharing the video of this interview on social media, in which Hailey Bieber is heard saying that ‘fasting is foolish’.

Justin says in the interview, “I need to think seriously on this because I have never done this before. If you think a little, according to me, our body needs nutrients. After this Hailey says that she never really thought about fasting.”

Hailey said, “If you want to switch off your phone or TV, absolutely do it. But as far as fasting is concerned, I do not understand the meaning of it.

This conversation of the Bieber couple has been criticized by Gauhar Khan, who is pregnant and still fasting in Ramzan. On her Instagram page, she often shares her experiences regarding fasting.

Ayesha Omar has said on her Instagram that people with very little knowledge should know that apart from its mental and emotional benefits, the world’s top scientists and doctors are now emphasizing on its other benefits.

She further writes, “It’s okay if you don’t know, instead of shaming them, I think we should tell them and send them something to read or watch.”
