Twitter chief Elon Musk has apologized to a disabled employee after having a heated conversation with him. It all started with an employee named Halli Thorleifsson tweeted Elon Musk after his HR couldn’t confirm whether he was an employee or not. Elon Musk questioned him about what work he does at Twitter and even mocked his disability.

Mr. Thorleifsson, also known as “Halli” on Twitter, has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair. After Elon Musk stated Mr. Halli couldn’t even type but is ranting on Twitter, Halli made fun of Elon Musk’s security accompanying him even to the bathroom.

After a Twitter user clarified things to Elon Musk for Mr. Halli, Elon Musk replied, “Based on your comment, I just did a video call with Halli to figure out what’s real vs what I was told. It’s a long story. Better to talk to people than communicate via tweet.”

He later apologized, “I would like to apologize to Halli for my misunderstanding of his situation. It was based on things I was told that were untrue or, in some cases, true, but not meaningful. He is considering remaining at Twitter.”
