As of April 2025, wait times for B1/B2 US visitor visas have significantly decreased across most Indian cities, including Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi. The reductions come after the US consulates expanded processing capacity and added more staff to tackle the post-pandemic backlog, offering much-needed relief to Indian tourists and business travelers.
However, Chennai continues to experience delays, with wait times still exceeding 400 days, is a far longer than in other metros. Despite this, the overall improvement signals better access for Indian applicants planning short-term travel to the United States.
