The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will convene closed consultations today to discuss the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. Islamabad requested the emergency meeting, urging the Council to address the escalating situation between the two nations.

Pakistan, which is currently serving as a non-permanent member of the UNSC, has called for urgent discussions to assess the situation. The meeting, scheduled for the afternoon, will be presided over by Greece, which holds the presidency of the UNSC for the month of May.

The outcome of the closed-door consultations is expected to shed light on the international community’s stance on the matter.
