U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that India has agreed to eliminate tariffs on American goods, calling India’s trade barriers among the highest globally. Speaking at a bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Trump stated, “They’ll drop it to nothing. They wouldn’t have done this for anybody else but me.” Though specifics were not provided, reports suggest India plans to impose zero tariffs on U.S. steel, auto components, and pharmaceuticals. This move comes after Trump’s tariff adjustments on various trading partners, including a 10% duty on imports from India.
