An electric bus parked in Chintal Chenna, Tirupati, was reported stolen early Friday morning, prompting a police investigation. The driver noticed the bus missing from its parking spot and alerted the bus manager, who then approached the East Police. After a search, the bus was located abandoned on a sharp bend at Ghat Road in Kadapa’s Chintakomma Dinne area. Officials said the bus appeared to have been involved in an accident at the site, possibly due to the thief losing control on the curves. Valued at approximately ₹1.3 crore, the incident has raised concerns over the security of public transportation assets. Authorities are now investigating the theft as part of a series of recent incidents, including the theft of phones and even the TTD’s sacred chariot, highlighting growing security challenges in the region.
