The ticket prices for the movie Mad Square in Andhra Pradesh have been increased following approval from the state government. Producer Nagavamsi had requested the government for a hike, and Cinematography Minister Kandukuri Durgesh issued orders allowing the price increase. Starting tomorrow, bookings will begin in the state.
As per the new rates, ticket prices in single screens have been raised to ₹50, while multiplex tickets will cost ₹70. While producers are happy with the approval, regular moviegoers are questioning whether it’s justified to increase prices for medium-range hero films. Many feel the hike is excessive, especially when compared to larger films.
Meanwhile, Mad Square is witnessing great advance bookings overseas, though the response in Hyderabad has been relatively lukewarm.
