Telangana has earned another prestigious recognition as Chapata Chilli from Warangal district receives the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. The Geographical Indications Registry announced the recognition, granting the chilli international recognition. Known for its unique taste and heat, this chilli is grown in areas of Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Janagaon districts. With the GI tag, Chapata Chilli can now be marketed globally, bringing more visibility to the region’s agricultural produce. This brings the total number of GI-tagged products from Telangana to 18.
