The Telangana government is leveraging the global platform of the Miss World event to promote rural tourism and highlight the state’s cultural and historical heritage. With over 120 international representatives and broadcasts across 150 countries, the event will provide an exceptional opportunity to showcase rural tourism hotspots in districts like Warangal, Hanmakonda, Mulugu, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. Miss World contestants will tour key sites, including the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple and the historical Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal, as part of their visit. The event will also feature experiences like visits to the Buddhist Park at Nagarjuna Sagar and live demonstrations of handloom weaving in Pochampally.
This initiative aims to boost foreign tourism and reshape the image of Telangana’s rural areas, positioning them on the global map. Key attractions such as the unique children’s Banyan tree in Mahbubnagar, the spiritual Yadagirigutta Temple, and the serene Buddhist heritage sites will gain significant attention. By using the Miss World event to spotlight these destinations, Telangana seeks to enhance its tourism profile and foster cultural exchange, contributing to the state’s economic and social development.
