The Telangana Education Commission has proposed a Bill to regulate fees and oversee private schools and junior colleges in the state. The Bill aims to ensure affordability and transparency, addressing concerns over rising fees.

It proposes the creation of the Telangana Private School Fee Regulatory and Monitoring Commission, which will oversee fee structures and implement educational policies. Key provisions include biannual fee hikes linked to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which has averaged 5.5% in the last decade.

The Bill mandates that private schools and colleges display detailed information on their websites, including fee breakdowns, teacher qualifications, and student enrollment data. It also prohibits commercial activities, such as selling uniforms or textbooks, and bans misleading charges like donation or maintenance fees.

The Bill allows flexibility in fee structures, considering factors like location, staff salaries, and institution upkeep.
