A pigeon fitted with devices on its leg was caught by Odisha fishermen. According to the reports, the pigeon was caught from a fishing boat off the Paradip coast of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district. Not only the pigeon has a camera but also a microchip. The pigeon was handed over to the Marine Police. The officials are currently investigating the matter and suspect the pigeon was used for spying.
Jagatsinghpur Superintendent of Police Rahul PR said that they will take the help of the State Forensic Science Laboratory in this matter. “Currently, our veterinarians are looking into the matter,” he said.
It also seems that something was written on one of the pigeon’s wings; the language that was unknown to the local Police. “We will seek the help of the experts,” the SP said.
Pitambar Behera, an employee of the fishing trawler ‘Sarathi’, said he saw the pigeon perched on the boat.
