Former Proddatur MLA and YSR Congress Party leader Rachamallu Shiva Prasad Reddy made shocking remarks on Friday, blaming former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the party’s defeat and accusing the current TDP-led government of running a massive liquor scam.Rachamallu claimed that Jagan’s excessive faith in doing good and ignoring political manipulation led to the YSRCP’s downfall, stating, “We lost power because of Jagan’s honesty and failure to understand Chandrababu’s deceit.”
He alleged that under the new coalition government, liquor commissions worth over ₹2,200 crore annually are flowing illegally to the TDP leadership — ₹1,000 crore from distilleries to CM Chandrababu Naidu and ₹1,200 crore from liquor shops to his son Nara Lokesh. He also criticized the arrests of former officials linked to Jagan’s regime, calling it a politically motivated witch hunt, and said that senior IAS and IPS officers now fear working in Andhra Pradesh.
