Former Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain have been booked by the Anti-Corruption Branch in connection with a Rs 2,000 crore “classroom scam.” The allegations stem from a large-scale infrastructure project undertaken by the Delhi government between 2015 and 2019 to build 12,748 classrooms across schools.
The project, initially estimated to cost Rs 1,200 per square foot, saw costs escalate to Rs 2,292 per square foot. Complaints from political leaders, including the BJP, claim financial misappropriation, irregular tendering processes, and inflated construction costs, resulting in significant losses to the public exchequer.
