Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled a bold plan to transform 400 acres of government land in Kancha Gachibowli, projecting an investment potential of over Rs 50,000 crore and job opportunities for up to 5 lakh people. Speaking at a review meeting, Reddy emphasized that this development would propel Telangana and Hyderabad’s growth, despite ongoing political protests.
Revanth Reddy dismissed accusations about the land’s classification, explaining that the area was never forest land and was instead a barren, rocky terrain. He also defended the project against concerns of losing green cover, citing nearby green spaces and plans to preserve historical rock formations.
The CM’s announcement came amidst controversies involving the University of Hyderabad’s land disputes, with Reddy accusing political forces of inciting unrest for their own gain. The project’s success is seen as a critical step toward Hyderabad’s emergence as a global financial hub.
