Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently expressed deep pain about the 16 days he spent in jail, describing the experience as hellish. He stated that the previous government had arrested him illegally and subjected him to unbearable conditions.
Revanth Reddy shared that he was arrested for flying a drone and was sent to jail, even though the fine for the offense was just Rs. 500. He pointed out that, under normal circumstances, individuals facing charges with a sentence of fewer than seven years should be granted bail, but he was instead sent to Chanchalguda Jail, using political power.
He also revealed that he was kept in a detention cell meant for Naxals and terrorists, where he spent 16 days without seeing a single person. He described the mental suffering he endured during that time. Reddy mentioned that he wasn’t allowed to sleep, as there were huge bugs and pests in the cell, making it impossible for him to rest.
In his statement, he recalled that he would lie under a tree to sleep after being released in the morning. These remarks have sparked political debates, as Revanth Reddy highlighted the hardships he faced under the previous government.
