The elections saw Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party stage a dramatic comeback, with Punjabi-Canadians playing a pivotal role.
Prominent Liberal winners include Anita Anand (Oakville East), Bardish Chagger (Waterloo), and Ruby Sahota (Brampton North), while the Conservative Party’s Amarjeet Gill pulled off a major upset by defeating sitting minister Kamal Khera in Brampton West.
