In connection with the liquor scam case, Raj Kasireddy’s father, Upender Reddy, has filed a habeas corpus petition in the High Court, seeking to declare the ACB Special Court’s remand orders as illegal and to cancel them. Following a request from the petitioner’s counsel for an urgent hearing, the bench led by Justice R. Raghunandan Rao accepted the matter as a lunch motion.
Meanwhile, the SIT officials have filed a separate petition in the ACB Court seeking ten days of custody for Raj Kasireddy, citing the need to investigate the money trail from distillery companies. The High Court has scheduled further hearing on the habeas corpus petition for Monday.
