In a significant admission, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that Indian ballistic missiles struck multiple targets inside Pakistan, including the Nur Khan Airbase near Rawalpindi, during the early hours of May 10. Speaking at a public event in Islamabad, PM Sharif said he was informed of the attack by Army Chief General Asim Munir at 2:30 AM. The strikes were part of India’s “Operation Sindoor,” launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 Indian soldiers. Indian forces reportedly targeted terror camps and key military sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Following the strikes, Pakistan launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks across the Line of Control, prompting further Indian responses. A ceasefire was agreed upon on May 10 after military leaders from both sides spoke via hotline, with U.S. intervention helping defuse tensions. However, India later accused Pakistan of ceasefire violations and confirmed that it intercepted multiple drones over Jammu and Gujarat. India also reiterated that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty would remain in effect, despite the temporary de-escalation.BSF Jawan Detained by Pakistan Handed Over to India
