Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated following India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 100 terrorists. In retaliation, Pakistan has launched attacks targeting key cities in northern and western India. Intelligence reports indicate that Pakistan aimed missiles and drones at military bases in cities including Jammu, Srinagar, Amritsar, Pathankot, and Chandigarh, among others.

Indian defense systems, including the S-400 air defense system, successfully intercepted these attacks. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that all drones and missiles were shot down before reaching their targets. The ongoing border clashes have intensified, with Pakistan’s army using mortars and heavy artillery along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in civilian casualties in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s military actions have led to the deaths of over 40 people, including women and children, since the Pahalgam terror attack.
