The 72nd Miss World competition, currently underway in Hyderabad, sees contestants from 110 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. However, there is no representative from Pakistan, as the country has never participated in the Miss World pageant.
A Miss World spokesperson confirmed that the absence has no connection to the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict. Pakistan has rarely participated in international pageants, with Erica Robin’s 2023 appearance at Miss Universe being an exception.
India’s Nandini Gupta, representing the country, is focusing on inclusivity for differently-abled individuals through her initiative “Project Ekta.”
