At 43 years and 278 days, MS Dhoni has become the oldest-ever captain in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran cricketer was reappointed as captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) midway into IPL 2025, following the injury of regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhoni had previously held the record during the 2023 season, leading CSK at 41 years and 326 days.
