Sumanth Prabhas has written and directed the film Mem Famous while also playing the lead role. The extensive promotions of the film attracted the youth and Mem Famous was backed by all the celebrities as well. Chai Bisket Films and Lahari Films which produced Major produced this movie. Let us check out the review.

Story:

Three best friends Mai aka Mahesh (Sumanth Prabhas), Durga (Mani Aegurla), and Balakrishna (Mourya) from the village Bandanarsampalli is good for nothing. Mai and Balakrishna will be in relation with Mounika (Saarya) and Bubby (Siri Raasi) respectively.

To win their love, they decide to do something useful in their lives and then their lives have more twists awaited. Did the three become famous? Did Mai and Balakrishna win their love?

Performances:

After watching Mem Famous one thing is for sure, Sumanth Prabhas has a long way to go. He has that confidence and attitude. Sumanth Prabhas will have a long way to go if right scripts are selected. He is good in comedy as well.

There are a lot of fresh faces that have done well in the lead roles. Mani Aegurla, Mourya Chowdary, Saarya, Siri Raasi, Kiran Macha, Anji Mama, Narendra Ravi, and Shiva Nandan have played key roles in the movie and they have done well.

Technicalities:

Kalyan Nayak’s music is good. A couple of songs will be registered. His BGM is too good as well. The Cinematography by Shyam Dupati is nice. He captured the rural Telangana village backdrop very aesthetically. The production values are excellent too. The sync sound which was used to bring naturality acts as a drawback. Some dialogues aren’t audible. The editing could have been better as there are many lag scenes in both halves.

Sumanth Prabhas as a writer and director did an okay job. There are some really good scenes for a first-timer. The comedy is intact throughout the movie. However, Mem Famous has many lag scenes which act as a hindrance. Particularly, the second half feels dragged to the core.

Analysis:

All in all, Mem Famous which promised so much after aggressive promotions will fall short of the expectations. The film can be watched once if you are extremely bored this weekend, otherwise, skip it.

Rating: 2.5
