The Telangana government has issued orders to remove 6,729 contract employees who continued in key positions after their retirement. The government has terminated their services, including prominent figures such as Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority Vice Chairman G. Kishan Rao, and Consultant Engineer BLN Reddy.
In the list, 10 directors from Transco and Genco are also included. The government aims to fill the vacant positions with new appointments and promote existing employees. The Municipal Administration Department has already started taking action, removing 177 retired employees working on a contract basis.
The government has directed relevant departments to prioritize the filling of these vacancies, with new notifications expected for Group-1 to Group-4 positions. The decision is also expected to lead to promotions for many employees.
