Maharashtra Cyber has identified seven Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups behind over 1.5 million cyber attacks targeting Indian critical infrastructure in the wake of the Pahalgam terror strike. Although only 150 attacks were successful, attempts originated from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Morocco, and the Middle East. The methods used included malware, DDoS attacks, GPS spoofing, and website defacements.

In its latest report titled “Road of Sindoor”, Maharashtra Cyber has documented the hybrid cyber warfare campaign waged by Pakistan-allied hackers, including misinformation efforts claiming to disrupt India’s power grid and military systems. Authorities have debunked these claims and urged citizens to rely on verified sources to avoid spreading fake news.
