Union Minister Kishan Reddy has hit out at Telangana’s so-called “caste survey,” calling it a mere “caste survey” and not a proper caste enumeration. Responding to Congress leaders who hailed the state’s survey as a model for the country, Reddy described it as a “half-hearted” attempt and mocked the inclusion of Muslims in the BC list. He further stated that for the first time since independence, the central government will carry out a comprehensive caste enumeration, emphasizing it will be far more detailed and authentic. Reddy raised a crucial question, “How can Telangana’s flawed survey be considered a role model?” He also challenged the state government, saying that if a proper caste enumeration was conducted, he was ready for a debate.
