The Union Cabinet has cleared major proposals aimed at strengthening infrastructure and supporting agriculture. A ₹22,864 crore economic corridor between Silchar and Shillong has been approved, covering 166.8 km to enhance connectivity in the Northeast.
In a significant move for farmers, the Cabinet also increased the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane by ₹35 per quintal, ensuring better income for growers across the country.
