Japan is set to gift two state-of-the-art bullet trains to India for testing on the upcoming Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. The E5 Series Shinkansen trains, known for their speed and safety, can travel up to 320 km/h and are expected to arrive in India by 2026.
The E5 model was first introduced in Japan in 2011 and is currently in operation on several high-speed routes. This gesture reflects Japan’s continued support for India’s ambitious bullet train project and strengthens bilateral ties in advanced transport infrastructure and technology.
