BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar is being considered for reappointment as the party’s Telangana president, along with former MLC Ram Chander Rao. Sanjay had previously held the position before being replaced by Secunderabad MP G Kishan Reddy ahead of the 2023 state Assembly elections. Sources suggest that the BJP high command is leaning towards reappointing Sanjay due to his status as a Backward Class (BC) leader and his strong push for Hindutva, which has previously helped the party in elections.

This decision comes after the BJP’s strong performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where it won 8 out of 17 seats in Telangana. If Sanjay is reappointed, it could impact the party’s strategy in the state, especially with BC groups demanding more political representation. Under Sanjay’s leadership, the BJP has seen significant electoral success, including in the 2020 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections.
