Indian outbound tourism has reached new heights, with travelers increasingly exploring a diverse range of international destinations. According to the Mastercard Economics Institute’s Travel Trends 2025 report, the top three destinations favored by Indian tourists are Abu Dhabi, Hanoi, and Bali. This surge is attributed to the expanding middle class, improved global connectivity, and the availability of direct flight routes. For instance, IndiGo Airlines has introduced new direct flights connecting Madurai and Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi, facilitating easier access for travelers from southern India. These developments underscore India’s growing prominence as a key player in global travel, with projections indicating that the country’s outbound tourism market will reach $60 billion by 2031 .
