In a major military operation, India launched Operation Sindoor early Wednesday, targeting nine terror hotbeds in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes, which were carried out in retaliation for the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, successfully neutralized key infrastructure linked to terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the strikes were precise and focused on eliminating terrorist cells from which attacks on India had been planned and directed. “Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature,” the statement read, emphasizing that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.
The operation, carried out under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to uphold India’s commitment to holding those responsible for the Pahalgam attack accountable. While India reported successful operations, the Ministry also reiterated that the country seeks to avoid escalation and tensions.
