India and the United Kingdom have signed a “landmark” trade agreement, marking a significant step in reducing tariffs between the two nations. The deal, hailed as the UK’s biggest post-Brexit trade pact, is expected to increase bilateral trade by £25.5 billion ($34.1 billion) annually, a 60% rise from current levels. India will reduce tariffs on UK goods like whisky, medical devices, and lamb, with most removed within a decade. In return, the UK will lower tariffs on Indian products. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called it a key move to strengthen global alliances and boost the economy.
