The Telangana government has announced plans to develop a Knowledge City on 450 acres in Puppalaguda, Hyderabad, aiming to generate employment for over five lakh people. The project will be developed in phases, with land previously allocated to cooperative societies for MLAs, MPs, and officers—later canceled by the Supreme Court—now repurposed for the initiative. An additional 250 acres available with TGIIC brings the total to 450 acres.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy reviewed the project on Thursday. The ministers emphasized Hyderabad’s legacy in the IT sector and the state’s vision to lead in emerging technologies like AI, building on the foundations laid by Hi-Tech City and the Financial District.
