Hyderabad has emerged as one of the costliest cities in India for domestic LPG, with the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder now standing at ₹955. This makes it the second-highest in the country, trailing only behind a few select areas in Telangana where rates have crossed ₹970.
The price hike is attributed to regional taxes and transportation costs. In comparison, LPG prices in other metros remain slightly lower—₹929 in Kolkata, ₹908.5 in Chennai, and ₹903 in Delhi.
The steep rise has added to household expenses, sparking concern among residents and consumer rights groups.
