The PG medical student Dr. D Preethi from Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal who committed suicide has been shifted to NIMS and despite the efforts of the doctors, Preethi was declared dead. NIMS medical superintendent Dr. Satyanarayana released a bulletin stating that she is no more. “Despite continuous efforts by a multidisciplinary team of specialist doctors, Dr. Preethi could not be saved and was declared dead on February 26, 2023, at 9.10 pm,” he stated in the bulletin.
Preethi has battled for life for five days and with the death news coming out tension prevailed at NIMS the other night. Police personnel was deployed at the hospital to control the situation.
Earlier, Dr. MA Saif, a second-year MD anesthesia student of KMC was taken into custody by Warangal Police who was alleged to be the culprit. He was sent to judicial custody. Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao states that it was extremely painful to hear the news about Preethi and extended his condolences to her family.
