In an unfortunate accident, an under-construction slab of a flyover collapsed at LB Nagar Sagar Road, Bairamalguda, Hyderabad in the early hours today. This resulted in the injury of 10 workers who were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. The flyover is part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) being implemented by GHMC. This flyover will help in connecting the Bairamalguda junction near LB Nagar with the Sagar Ring Road.
The incident happened at 3:30 AM when the last layer was being poured on the slab structure and then it fell down. Two workers sustained severe injuries while the other had minor injuries. The reason behind this accident is not known yet.
The sources revealed that the damage could have been even bigger if the accident happened during traffic hours. A Concrete mixer vehicle hitting the support structure of the slab is said to be the reason behind this.
