Good News for Andhra Farmers: CM Naidu Announces ₹12,500 per Quintal for Tobacco

In a major relief to farmers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure a minimum support price of ₹12,500 per quintal for Burley tobacco. Reviewing the procurement and pricing of key crops including tobacco, chilli, cocoa, and paddy, the CM emphasized fair prices and urgent support for farmers affected by unseasonal rains.

Naidu also instructed officials to procure cocoa at no less than ₹500 per kg and ensure proper quality checks for chilli. He urged awareness drives to promote alternative crops and suggested encouraging farmers to grow fine rice varieties from the upcoming Kharif season. The government assured full-scale procurement of paddy and support for chilli farmers who suffered crop losses.
