The newly inaugurated Pamban Railway Sea Bridge near Rameswaram, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, witnessed its first ship crossing recently. The honor went to a cargo vessel named 4 Star from Andhra Pradesh.
The ship departed from Visakhapatnam on April 16, heading toward Karwar Harbour in Karnataka. Though it was scheduled to arrive by April 23, rough weather and strong winds over the Bay of Bengal delayed its journey, and it finally reached its destination on May 1. The event marks a significant moment in India’s coastal connectivity.
