It was a star-studded evening – minus the red carpet, but full of glitz and glam, as the Detroit Telangana Community (DTC) Women’s Committee hosted a fabulous women-only event, Filmy Diva Night, on April 12 at Authentikka Indian Cuisine in Canton, Michigan.
Themed “Dress to Dazzle Like Your Favorite Desi Movie Star,” the event was all things fun, filmi, and fabulous! Ladies from the community arrived channeling their inner Bollywood and Tollywood icons, serving major looks and infectious energy. From dazzling sarees to iconic movie-inspired outfits, the night was a celebration of desi glam.
The evening featured lively games like bingo, a raffle, non-stop music, dancing, and a sumptuous buffet dinner. One of the most buzzworthy moments? The Filmy Diva Insta Glam Contest—where participants flaunted their looks on Instagram for a chance to win. Winners will be revealed on April 20, 2025, based on likes, creativity, and resemblance to their chosen film diva.
The event was a perfect blend of nostalgia, style, and sisterhood—proving once again that desi women know how to light up the night, filmi style!
