Damu Gedela from Srikakulam Honoured with Service Award by Edison Mayor

Damu Gedela, a resident of Kattulakaviti in Srikakulam district and an NRI from Edison, New Jersey, was recently honoured with the prestigious “Sham Joshi Service Award” by the Mayor of Edison. This recognition was given for his 40 years of dedicated service to various community initiatives in the United States.

Mayor Joshi presented Damu with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging his contributions. Damu, who has been actively involved in several social welfare activities in both the US and his native village, also played a key role in the construction of a District Parishad High School under the “Janmabhumi” programme, with the support of the Andhra Pradesh government.

Additionally, Damu serves as the director of the Sri Sai Datta Peetham and was honoured by local residents during the Sri Ramanavami celebrations at the Peetham. The event was attended by prominent figures such as Telugu Kala Samithi (TFAS) President Madhu Anna, Srinivas Ganagoni, Raghunatha Shankaramanchi, Subbarao Chennuri, and Prasad Kunishetti.
