In a significant move after years of delay, the Central government has begun addressing the unresolved issues stemming from the 2014 bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The Ministry of Home Affairs is focusing on the division of assets, institutions, and organizations listed under Schedules 9 and 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Along with this, the Centre is looking into the completion of shared projects between the two states.
As part of the resolution, the Centre has allocated ₹350 crore to Andhra Pradesh and ₹270 crore to Telangana. The government is also fast-tracking infrastructure developments like the Duggarajapatnam Port and Kadapa Steel Plant. Additionally, the progress of various educational institutions and development projects in both states is being closely monitored. Officials believe that these efforts will pave the way for resolving long-standing issues between the two states, bringing much-needed relief to both.
