The Centre has given the green signal for the construction of the Greenfield Expressway connecting Amaravati and Hyderabad, which will significantly enhance connectivity between the two Telugu states and neighboring regions. The project aims to improve transportation and facilitate better integration with other states. Along with this, the Centre has directed the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the expressway’s construction.

In addition to the expressway approval, the Centre has issued several important directives for the development of the region, including:

  • Orders to the Petroleum Ministry to explore the possibility of setting up another refinery in addition to the BPCL refinery already allocated.
  • Instructions to the Railway Ministry to assess the establishment of corridors linking Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Kurnool.
  • A push for accelerating the development of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and the release of funds for backward districts.
  • Directives from the Home Ministry to focus on infrastructure projects such as the Duggarajapatnam Port and the six-lane road connecting Srikakulam to Chennai.

These steps mark a significant boost to regional development, with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership driving the state towards rapid progress.
