Starting today, key financial changes are being implemented, affecting UPI transactions and minimum balance rules. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced a new rule where UPI IDs linked to deactivated mobile numbers will be deactivated. Users are advised to update their bank details if they haven’t done so for a long time.
Additionally, several banks, including SBI, PNB, and Canara Bank, have revised their minimum balance requirements for savings and current accounts, with penalties for failing to maintain the required balance. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also reduced the number of free ATM withdrawals to three per month, with a ₹20 to ₹25 fee for additional transactions.
