The Andhra Pradesh CID started questioning Cherukuri Ramoji Rao and Sailaja Kiran at Kiran’s residence in Hyderabad. This investigation was part of the irregularities in the Margadarsi Chit Fund Pvt Ltd. A group of 30 members arrived in the early morning hours at her residence and started the proceedings.
It is known that AP CID served notices to MD Sailaja Kiran under Section 160 of the CRPC to be available for questioning. CID has given options to be available on the 29th or 31st of this month or on the 3rd or 6th of April either at her residence or the corporate office.
Ramoji Rao is the Chairman of the Margadarsi Chit Funds, and her daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran is the Managing Director. Previously, AP CID arrested four branch managers of Margadarsi and an auditor in this case.
