Tamil Nadu BJP leader K. Annamalai has been chosen as the BJP’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat from Andhra Pradesh, left vacant by Vijayasai Reddy’s resignation. The decision was finalized during a key meeting between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu. During the discussion, Amit Shah expressed the party’s intent to field its own candidate, to which Naidu offered full support.
This move signals growing cooperation between the BJP and TDP ahead of upcoming political developments. There is also strong speculation that Annamalai will be inducted into the Union Cabinet during the next expansion, marking a significant rise in his political career.
