In an unfortunate incident, a 6-year-old girl named Lakshitha was killed by a Leopard in Tirumala. Going into the details, the girl and her family started trekking Tirumala for the darshan. They started climbing the stairs on Friday night at around 8 PM and at 11 PM, they reached Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. The family was relieved that in an hour their trekking would be completed and then the unfortunate incident took place which shook their lives.
A Leopard pounced on the girl and dragged her into the Seshachalam Forests. Though the family alerted the Police, they couldn’t start the rescue operations as it was too dark in the forest area. In the morning, the Police identified a half-eaten body, a few meters from the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. After a medical examination, it was declared that it was Leopard that attacked the girl. At first, everyone thought it was a bear.
This was the second such instance in a month as a three-year-old body was successfully rescued from a Leopart attack. Lakshitha belongs to Nellore district’s Pothireddy Palem.
