Veteran producer M. S. Raju has raised concerns over former US President Donald Trump’s move to impose a 100% tariff on Telugu films, calling it a major blow to the industry. He warned that the US is a key market for big-budget Telugu movies, often contributing ₹80–100 crore in overseas earnings.

Raju added that with falling revenues from satellite and digital rights, the new tariff could worsen financial pressures on producers. He urged the US administration to reconsider, saying such a move could severely affect Tollywood’s global reach and profitability.
