Visakhapatnam: The sacred festival of Karthika Deepotsavam was celebrated with immense devotion and grandeur yesterday evening at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam. Organized under the auspices of the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) wing of TTD, the event witnessed active participation from 1,500 devotees.
The central highlight of the celebrations was the distribution of 1,400 pooja kits, offered free of cost to devotees. Each kit included 365 wicks, symbolizing the lighting of good virtues for every day of the year. In a remarkable act of devotion, a staggering 5,11,000 wicks were lit, transforming the venue into a radiant and divine space.
TTD priests performed the Deepotsavam rituals with utmost dedication, offering three varieties of prasadams to the devotees. The spiritual atmosphere was further enriched by special cultural performances held before the lighting of the lamps.
Local dignitaries and the District Dharmic Committee played a significant role in supporting and organizing the event.
The festival, celebrated during the auspicious Karthika month, once again highlighted the deep-rooted spiritual traditions and collective devotion of the community, leaving an indelible mark on all those who attended.
